Welcome to my website! I’m a sociology PhD candidate at Stanford University and a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. I work on topics in economic and cultural sociology, inequality, housing, and race and ethnicity.
My research centers on two lines of inquiry in the domain of housing, which I focus on as a major source of economic and racial inequality in contemporary society. The first examines how people make judgments in the domain of housing, including projects on how individuals evaluate the legitimacy of different types of homebuyers and interpret neighborhood safety. The second, which is the focus of my dissertation, explores the evolution of the cultural dimensions of commodification in the housing market. Methodologically, I use survey experiments, natural language processing, and occasionally semi-structured interviews. Feel free to look around my website to see what I’ve been working on.
